44 Days!

I really can't believe it, 44 more days till I'm coming home. But hey, who's counting?

Something special happened on the 18th of October, I got to DRIVE! For the first time on Aussie soil. It was also 9 months since I've landed. It was great, I drove for about 15 minutes and what an experience. The car was also standard so I had to shift with the opposite hand, and when I went to hit the flicker to turn, I turned on the wipers. Great times, Thanks Megan for trusting me with your car/life! It's not to bad once you get driving, within minutes I got the hang of it.

This Saturday my connect group is heading to the Wombeyan Caves which is a couple hours south. So I'll get some pictures up of the experience and you hopefully will get to see some of the amazing people I get to share my time with.

I achieved another milestone. For the first time I was able to sleep in till 1:30 PM this past weekend! I know, you might be saying I wasted my day, but I didn't waste my night! Worked really late, or early, however you want to look at it, so I didn't get to bed till 4:30 AM! It was great! Hahaha.

Anyways, it's quarter to 10, and I should probably get to bed so I can hopefully maintain a little bit of a normal sleeping schedule...good night!

Wait, I'm not done. How could I forget! My flat almost burned down! Here is the story. My great roommate lit a candle in the bathroom. He left, the candle fell into the rubbish bin and the fire started. The other three of us started smelling smoke, then the alarm went off. Marcus ran to the bathroom and literally yelled, "Cory your bathroom is on fire!" Panicking and trying to figure out what I'm gonna grab I ran in there to find the bin on fire. We quickly put water on it, covered it with a towel, and threw it on the balcony. The smoke was pretty intense, I was sneezing soot for days after. Are room still smells of a little smoke. Here are a couple pictures I took after the fact.

This is me and Aaron after we got the rubbish bin out. You can see where the bin was and where my towel is hanging. If we didn't get it I'm sure my towel would've caught on fire. There was black marks around the towel, but the towel didn't catch on fire and just smelt like smoke.

The culprit.

No one's hurt, just got a stinky bathroom, and it's all good!

Good night...for real.

Yes!

So I wasn't to sure how I was getting home, but now I am! That's right I have a plane ticket home! God is faithful. When something seems so big and out of reach, God just puts forth His hand and provides. I'm so blessed to live for a God who's bigger than all my problems. Who holds the universe in his hand. Whose love is never ending, unchanging, and for everyone. I am truly in love with God.

Now I quickly want to share on a topic that has challenged me recently. It's something that I never really thought worth changing until I realized that it wasn't good for me at all. It's sarcasm. Like a maniac shooting, flaming arrows of death, is one who deceives a neighbor, and says, "I was only joking!" For myself personally I'm going to use my words to uplift and encourage and I don't want to leave room for sarcastic remarks. I've already caught myself a couple times but I'm going to work on it. I encourage all of you to catch yourself next time you quickly roll off a sarcastic remark and come back with more positive ones. Let's encourage the people around us and build each other up.

Anyways, the weather is amazing, was up to 35 degrees. It's amaaaazing. So hot. But I'm going to a movie later so I best be off. See ya!
